Kids Yoga

Kids today are much more likely to be found indoors, on an ipad or laptop – constantly “switched on”, between that and ever growing piles of school work/homework and various other activities – little ones can be under just as much pressure as us adults!.

Yoga is a great way of relieving stress and tension using breathing and movement for children and adults alike. It can help your child to focus and boost their concentration levels. They can also build  strength and improve coordination . Teaching a child healthy habits encourages them to embrace a healthy lifestyle they can continue into adulthood. Yoga also teaches us to stop, catch our breath and be present in the moment.

I work in local schools and nurseries delivering preschool, primary and teen yoga sessions.

Here is just some  of the lovely feedback we have received .

Pre school

Joanne has been delivering yoga sessions to the pre-school children at Tilly-Mints Cherubs Day Nursery since June 2018.  For most of the children this was the first time they had experienced any type of yoga but they interacted really well with Joanne.

The sessions are fun and very interactive and the children always seem to enjoy it. Joanne uses songs and storytelling to encourage the children to copy moves and stretches that help with the children’s with balance, breathing and relaxation.

We intended to trial the weekly sessions but with such positive feedback from both children and parents, it has become a regular activity each week.

I would highly recommend Joanne (Lil Mis Fit) to deliver yoga.

Teen sessions

the 5 sessions you delivered to our young people were outstanding. GAP’s students have all been diagnosed with debilitating anxiety and depression. They tend to miss out on many social activities because their confidence does not allow them to participate. The yoga sessions you brought into GAP were really relaxed and just perfect – it allowed the young people to giggle as they participated and the sessions sounded like a bunch of teenagers having fun… which, of course, is just what was happening! That lovely atmosphere really was down to your inclusive approach. The breathing exercises were excellent and I know that several of the students have applied them during the exam period. I also know that 3 students have continued to practice some of the exercises, using YouTube. I really hope that your classes in GAP will inspire them to participate in more classes when they progress to college next year.

Thank you again Joanne – I really hope we are able to use Misfits again.
